Khamzat Chimaev named three fighters who refused to fight him

The popular Chechen fighter Khamzat Chimaev, who is still without a scheduled fight, listed three potential opponents who refused to share the octagon with him.

“Over the past few months, I was offered three fights, I accepted all of them, but they never took place,” Borz said in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “It was Colby Covington, Alex Pereira, then Robert Whittaker, and I agreed every time, but it didn’t happen. I don’t know what happened, and what I’m even waiting for”

According to Chimaev, Colby Covington only dared to say his name after Dana White announced his move to middleweight.

“As soon as Dana White said that I was moving up to middleweight, Colby started talking shit about me, but when they sent him a contract, he was silent, he just disappeared. He says it didn’t happen, but he’s lying. For me, this is an easy fight. I’m better as a grappler, I’m better at wrestling, and I have a striker, I can hit hard. He talks about his cardio, but how is he going to use it? How will he transfer me, how will he harm me? He’s too small for me.”

Despite the fact that Chimaev plans to hold his next fight in middleweight, he will not refuse the opportunity to return to the welterweight category if he is interested in a solid fee, or given a title chance.

“I can go down to welterweight, no problem, but then pay me well, or give me a fight for the belt. Title fight or money”
