Khamzat Chimaev has issued an ultimatum to the UFC

If the organization’s leadership does not schedule him for a fight with current UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis, Chechen fighter Khamzat Chimaev is still ready to take part in the UFC 300 anniversary tournament, but on one condition.

“I’m ready to fight at UFC 300,” “Borz” told ESPN. “Give me a title shot, or someone else, but for a double fee. It has to be a title fight. If not, double the fee.”

“I’m the only one who remains undefeated, 13-0, and I was promised that after the Usman fight I would fight for the title, and I won that fight. I don’t know what’s going on – I heard Dana White say, ‘I don’t think Hamzat will be fighting for the title next,’ but that’s complete bullshit.”

“If you promised me something, you have to be accountable for your words. I’m a guy who always answers for his words, so I don’t care if it’s the president or the king. If you gave me your word, you have to answer for it. That’s the way we do things. And I’m happy to back up my word that I’m going to kill everyone. Maybe it’s different in the U.S. because it’s a different mentality there.”

“I don’t know how things will work out, but I would definitely be surprised if the next title fight is not me. We’ll see. I haven’t talked to Dana White yet, and I don’t know what he’s thinking – he knows better than I do. But of course, I’m sure I should be next.”

Last weekend at UFC 297 in Toronto, Dricus Du Plessis took the middleweight championship belt from Sean Strickland, defeating the American by split decision at the end of five rounds. In addition to Khamzat Chimaev, former division champions Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira announced their readiness to fight the South African.

Recall that the UFC 300 tournament will be held April 13 in Las Vegas, and the main event of the anniversary event, the head of the UFC, Dana White, promised to announce this week.
