According to Chimaev, the only obstacle in organizing the fight is the unwillingness of the Nigerian to fight in the middle weight category.
“Kamaru Usman, why are you talking about me? You said that you want to fight at middleweight, that this is not a problem for you. You’re a boogeyman, but I’m a wolf! Get up!” Chimaev said in a video posted on social media.
Two days earlier, the former UFC welterweight champion revealed that the obstacles were not only on his side, placing some of the blame on a potential opponent.
According to the UFC plan, Khamzat Chimaev should fight his next fight on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi in the middleweight category.
