“People do not understand one thing – he never said that he would not coach. He said that he would not second and go to training camps because he wants to spend time with his family, ”the American specialist said in an interview with The Schmo. “He never said that he would not come to the gym and train guys. He’s still true to everything he said, but he never said never.”
“I hope that at some point he will come back and help me. Having him in the corner is a big motivation for the guys and for me, because then my job becomes easier – I don’t have to worry about much. I just sit in the back seat and let him drive because he’s a damn good driver.”
The undefeated Russian fighter also shared his impressions of the training camp he had with the team.
“It’s been an amazing few weeks in San Jose. I still love to train hard – I love that energy,” the former UFC lightweight champion wrote on the social network.
