Khabib Nurmagomedov gave an assessment of his physical form

Former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, assessed his current physical shape, and also spoke about what types of training he prefers after the end of his professional career.

“Let’s start with the fact that I have always been self-critical – even when I was in great shape, I always said that there is room to grow,” the Russian said in an interview with Gorilla Fighting. “As for the fighting form, I don’t spar, but I can fight – 20-30 minutes I fight every day. In running form, I’m a C-plus. A B-minus would be good, but I think a C-plus would be better.”

“I’m swinging more now – I started working out with iron, I started pushing iron a little bit. I didn’t do it before, because as soon as I touched the iron, it was hard for me to drive the weight, to gain muscle mass.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov, 34, last fought in October 2020, successfully unifying the current and interim UFC lightweight titles against American Justin Gaethje, and the undefeated Russian fighter was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame last summer.
