Kambosos tried to help Haney’s father, but in vain

De facto absolute world champion in lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) George Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) in a conversation with
The Sydney Morning Herald stated that he “contacted several high-profile individuals” to help Bill Haney obtain an Australian visa. Father-coach Devin Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) is not allowed into the country due to past problems with the law.

George volunteered to help not out of the kindness of his heart, but because the opponent “after the defeat” would not begin to make excuses, they say, he was without a coach.

“I know that when I destroy Haney, there will be a lot of excuses: about the father, about the coach, about jet lag, about everything,” Kambosos said. “Not only am I doing him a favor by giving him the chance to make millions of dollars, I have also struggled to find a way for his father to enter the country, but that is a problem.”

Kambosos before the fight with Haney: “I’m on 10 cylinders!”

Kambosos says that he himself had to fight abroad several times without his father in the corner – and that’s okay: “Everyone praises Devin for going to Australia, but I’m doing it [бои за границей] for five years already. I often had to [боксировать там] without a father.”

George is determined to crush the enemy in the best traditions of the ancient bearers of his ancient Greek slogan.

“History is being made again. It’s like when Kostya Tszyu knocked out Zab Judah and took a lot of belts,” Kambosos said. – And the same thing with us. History repeats itself. I can’t wait to ruin this boy.”

The fight is scheduled for June 5 in Melbourne (Australia). Kambosos is already making plans for autumn/winter.
