Former world lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Australian George Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs) has made it clear that he is not going to give up the right to a mandatory rematch after losing to American Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) in their last fight for the title of the absolute champion of the division.
“I will take some things out of this and look forward to a rematch at the end of this year,” Kambosos said. Yes, we will do it again. Look, I gave him a chance. If I hadn’t, he wouldn’t have this moment of triumph right now. So we’ll do it again.”
Recall that Haney confidently outboxed Kambosos on the opponent’s territory, winning by unanimous decision. It is a pity that not (c) Lomachenko – our report on what happened.
