Kamaru Usman gave his prediction for the Edwards and Covington fight

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman shared his opinion on the upcoming title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington, who are set to share the octagon this weekend.

“Long breaks affect fighters in different ways, and I don’t know how the almost two-year downtime affected Colby Covington,” Usman said in an interview with Daniel Cormier. “Leon Edwards believes he is the best welterweight on the planet because his hand was raised when he fought Kamaru Usman, who was the best welterweight on the planet at the time”

“He’s totally confident and he’s saying, ‘Kamaru beat him twice, which means I can do it too.’ Kamaru Usman is different from Colby Covington. Kamaru Usman not only knows how to wrestle and has cardio, but he also has a knockout punch. And he has walked Covington twice. Leon is so confident that that alone makes me want to bet on him.”

The welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington will be the main event of UFC 296, which will take place on December 16 in Las Vegas.
