Kamaru Usman clarified the situation on the fight with Khamzat Chimaev

Former UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, answered the question of whether he will fight with Khamzat Chimaev, about the organization of which many conflicting rumors circulate.

“Like many people, I thought I would fight Khamzat,” the Nigerian told reporters in Las Vegas. “For a number of specific reasons, not only on my part, until this happened. Let’s see how things turn out. I’m fine, I feel good and I’m ready to fight.”

If the fight with the Borz does not take place, the Nigerian Nightmare is ready to share the octagon with Conor McGregor.

“Conor said he always wanted to fight me at welterweight, so it makes sense. I’m not a champion anymore, so let’s do it!”

Usman also spoke about the upcoming title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington, which will take place on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi or November 11 at UFC 295 in New York.

“This is a good fight. Both guys are talented, both represent different challenges. I beat them both once or twice, so let’s see who wins this time.”

Earlier, Khamzat Chimaev said that he estimates the probability of organizing a duel with Kamaru Usman at 90%. According to the Chechen fighter, the ex-UFC champion does not want to fight in middleweight and insists on a weight category up to 82 kilograms.
