Kamaru Usman called the winner of the Edwards vs. Muhammad fight

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman shared his opinion on the upcoming title fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad, which was officially announced by the organization’s management this week.

“I like Belal, but I think Leon will win,” Usman said in another joint podcast with Henry Sejudo. “The sport has changed a lot and guys have learned how to use the net to get up.”

“It’s not even wrestling anymore because if you transfer a guy, he uses the net to get back on his feet. And Belal Muhammad is not a high-level enough wrestler to transfer him to the center of the octagon and keep him there.”

“It’s still a very intriguing fight, but because Leon is a champion and he has absolute confidence in himself as a champion, I think he will win. If he trains properly, he will leave the octagon with the championship belt.”

As a reminder, the welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad will be the main event of UFC 304, which takes place on July 27 in Manchester.
