UFC 269 tournament bout
The fight will take place on December 12 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the T-Mobile Arena and will be one of the main ones at the UFC 269 PPV tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 05:30 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt (12-4) will make his flyweight debut this weekend as he takes on Kai Cara-France (22-9, 1 NC) in the Octagon. Note that both are high in the UFC divisional rankings: Garbrandt is 7th there, and Cara France is 6th.
Despite the fact that Garbrandt is 30 years old, it looks like his best years are behind him. Cody has lost four of his last five fights, three of them by knockout. Garbrandt last fought in May at the UFC Fight Night 188 main event, where he suffered his first loss by decision of his career to a well-received Rob Font.
Charles Oliveira – Dustin Poirier. Forecast and announcement for the fight
Cara France has not fought since March, when he knocked out Rogerio Bontorin in the first round at UFC 259. With this, Cara France closed the loss with a choke from Brandon Royval. Note that Kai “Don’t Blink” lost two of his last four fights, another defeat two years ago he suffered from current division champion Brandon Moreno.
The big question is how the new weight will affect Garbrandt’s functionality. If the weight race went for him without much damage to health, then Garbrandt can once again get on the winning rails.
Most likely, fighters will be hacked to death in the rack. The ex-UFC champion has a frankly weak chin, but, fortunately for him, Cara France is not a super-tough puncher. However, the possibility that Garbrandt could run into some kind of oncoming blow and lay down exists. But still, Garbrandt is a better and more striking drummer than his rival. We do not rule out that “No Love” will knock out the opponent, which he has always been famous for.
Garbrandt wins by knockout in the 2nd round
