American coach Robert Garcia, who for the first time trained British ex-heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) for the fight – scheduled for August 20 with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs), – does not hide the importance of the upcoming challenge and believes that the victory of the ward will be the biggest in his coaching career.
“There are challenges that the coach loves. Especially the coach who still has a passion for it,” said Garcia. “I’m not taking anything away from the former champions I’ve worked with or the fighters who have opposed us like Mayweather and Pacquiao, but the upcoming event is special, especially for me. The fight for the world heavyweight title. Not every coach can say that.”
“I have already had big victories, but this victory will be the best in my coaching career,” said Robert. – With all my achievements, this will probably be my biggest victory. So not only Joshua needs it, but I need it too.”
