Joshua will fight in December, no matter how the rematch with Usyk ends – promoter

British ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) is going to have two fights this year. The first of them, a rematch against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs), from whom he will try to take away his previously owned WBA / WBO / IBF titles, should take place on August 20.

According to promoter Eddie Hearn, no matter how the upcoming fight ends, Joshua wants to fight again in August.

“I think you already know that Joshua is waiting for a fight (with Usyk) in August,” Hearn reminds just in case in an interview with
DAZN. “We really want to keep active with Anthony, as he’s been having trouble with it lately, mainly because of the pandemic, but also because of the scale of his show. Whatever the outcome of the fight with Usyk, he wants to fight again in December.”

“Of course, we are determined to win (against Usyk) and I am sure that Joshua will leave the ring as a winner,” continues Eddie. “If so, then we will immediately turn to the fight against Tyson Fury for the absolute championship. This is the biggest fight in boxing, the biggest fight of all time. I am sure that this fight will take place, no matter what happens on August 20.”

Joshua began to fade immediately after the victory over Klitschko, according to a promoter from Odessa.

The Wilder-Joshua fight will be huge even if Anthony loses to Usyk again, the manager is sure.
