American coach Robert Garcia has no doubt that on August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) his star ward British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) will take revenge on Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) from Ukraine and regain his titles according to WBA Super, IBF and WBO.

The fighters met in September in London (England) and then a confident victory went to the Ukrainian. The loser decided to change the coaching staff and opted for Garcia. He had previously seen Usyk’s training, he is sure that he knows the strengths and weaknesses of the Ukrainian.
Garcia congratulated “Usyk and his team for everything they have achieved as a professional. They are very cool, just a great team. I have been working with Joshua since December. Constantly on the road to England and back. And I see that Joshua is now far from the same as he was before we met. He even thinks differently, speaks differently. As for me, he spent the first fight absolutely wrong. But that is in the past. And this can’t be changed. Usyk was better, he won the case. Our congratulations. But on August 20, we will do everything to return the titles.”
“I know Joshua can do it,” Garcia said. He’s bigger, stronger. It remains only to use it in the ring. You will see, Joshua will become a three-time world champion. Rematches are always interesting. And we also know that Anthony is good at working on mistakes – proved in the second fight with Andy Ruiz. We understand that we have a fight ahead of us against a pound-level fighter. And it will be important to adapt in the course of the battle, because it is possible that you will have to make adjustments. We need to be ready for anything. Usyk is a great fighter, techie, excellent reflexes, accuracy. He has everything. But I know Joshua has the skills to beat him.”
“We started work in December. I spoke with coach Angel Fernandez. He told what mistakes were made on the eve of the first fight. But that is all in the past. Now we’re focusing on Joshua’s skills. I like that he finds time and hones all the things that we work on in the gym on his own. Works even on weekends. He’s learning, he’s taking notes, he wants to be world champion again. Therefore, I have no doubt that on August 20 he will beat Usyk and regain his titles, ”says Garcia.
Garcia compared Joshua to his other players: “He is very selfless. Hard plows in the hall. This motivates me, including myself, to do even more to help him win the rematch. I can see how much he wants to be world champion again. I’ve never had a heavyweight champion before. And he will be my first heavyweight champion and also my 15th world champion. I will help him and he will help me.”
Yesterday in Jeddah, a tough duel of views between Usyk and Joshua took place. The champion in Panama a la Kalush Orchestra remained silent at the press conference, and the challenger was going to “simplify” and thus win.
