Joshua reveals plan for rematch with Usyk

Former world champion Anthony Joshua said that he has a radically different plan for a rematch with Alexander Usyk – not the same as before their first meeting in the fall of 2021, but much more aggressive. Then, we recall, the Ukrainian outboxed the heavyweight champion and practically declassed him.

The return battle is scheduled for July 23.

In March, Joshua confirmed that his assistant coach Angel Fernandez had been promoted to head coach. Now they have developed a new aggressive plan.

“(Before the first fight) I proceeded from the fact that the fight with Usyk would last 12 rounds. That was my plan because I thought I could compete with him as a boxer. I think he took two rounds more than me, ”said Anthony

“So the goal now is to go back to basics and win by knockout. My natural style is to get on my opponent and make things difficult for him. This is the plan for the fight, ”Joshua said briefly and clearly.

What will Usyk himself be like in a rematch with Joshua, he hinted a little earlier. According to Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn, Canelo sincerely believes he can beat Usyk at heavyweight.
