Joshua, do you really want to go through all this again? – Golovkin’s victim

Briton Matthew Macklin was European champion and tried to become world champion three times, but failed to oppose anything to the then middleweight hegemons – Felix Sturm, Sergio Martinez and Gennady Golovkin.

The fighter ended his career in 2016 and worked as an expert analyst for sky sports.

Macklin commented on the rumors that his heavyweight compatriot Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) decided to change his mentor once again – they say that instead of Robert Garcia from now on, Roy Jones Jr. will be in the corner of the ex-unified world champion.

“Joshua has been working with Rob McCracken for a very, very long time,”
reasoning expert. – But I decided to try something new before the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. As for me, it worked. He looked better, the changes were felt. Garcia brought some freshness to the actions of Joshua. Therefore, it seems shameful to me to decide not to continue cooperation.”

Mackin explains his point: “You know what’s the hardest thing about working with a new coach? Get used to innovations and to a new environment. Does he really want to go through all this again? I’d rather he stay with Garcia and build on what they’ve already built together.”

The choice of Joshua surprised many: the ex-sparring in shock, the expert shared his thoughts. Meanwhile, the ex-rival of the big man said that it was not Usyk who beat Anthony.
