Robert Garcia, coach of British ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs), just like the rest, does not believe that his ward is able to outbox Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) in the upcoming rematch.
Proceeding from this, preparations for the battle were built, and tactics would be appropriate, Robert assured.
“It’s no secret, and the whole boxing world knows that Joshua can’t outbox Usyk, so we have to push a little, but wisely, of course,” Garcia states.
“Usyk is a very talented fighter. His combinations, they are just beautiful, – the coach admires. “Great jab, great straight right, great right to the body and so on, so we needed to practice this in training more than usual. Instead of trying to box, we should try to push. But at the same time, we will not go out to fight, we will not turn into such a fighter as Marcos Maidana. Nothing. We need to act wisely.”
Meanwhile, Lomachenko approached Usyk ahead of his rematch with Joshua.
