Joshua called the reason for Usyk’s defeat in rematch

Before the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs), which took place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia, there was a lot of talk about the “Robert Garcia factor” – the new British coach from the United States.

As a result, having been defeated on points, Anthony noted that the necessary adjustments were nevertheless made and allowed him to put up more serious resistance to the Ukrainian champion.

At the same time, the Brit made it clear that the preparation was not perfect, writing off the lack of shih for the entire 12-round distance to overtraining.

“I made the adjustments that were necessary to give him a more competitive fight (compared to the first). But that was not enough,” Joshua stated. I left everything in the hall. If I had left everything in the ring, I would have won.”

Meanwhile, AJ promoter Eddie Hearn explained why Joshua threw the belts out of the ring, and Joshua himself called the timing of his return to the ring.
