American coach Robert Garcia would not change anything in the preparation of British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) for a rematch against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) if he had such an opportunity.
Recall that the second fight between Usyk and Joshua for the WBA / WBO / IBF world titles took place on August 20 and ended with Alexander’s victory on points. It was Garcia’s first (and apparently last) fight as a British coach.
“We had a good plan for the fight, as we had good chances directly in the ring,” Robert is sure. “We didn’t win, but let’s not forget that we were probably up against the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
“Usyk is a great fighter and it was a challenge for me in my first fight as coach of Anthony to take him to a fighter like Usyk. We did everything in our power, and we had a good moment during the fight, but we still couldn’t, ”complained the coach.
Garcia is trying to dot the “i” in cooperation with the boxer, and in the meantime, the top British coach went through Anthony Joshua hard.
