Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic rescheduled

The heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, who was rumored to headline UFC 290 in Las Vegas on July 8, has been postponed indefinitely.

This was reported by ESPN sportswriter Mark Raimondi.

“I have seen reports that Jon vs Miocic will take place in July at UFC 290. This is a fight that all parties are interested in, but it will not take place in July. It is more likely that this will happen in the fall,” the journalist wrote on the social network.

At a press conference in Miami last weekend, UFC president Dana White confirmed that they were still planning to organize the fight, but did not give a specific date for the bout.

“Jon Jones came out, quickly dealt with Gan, and disappeared,” – said the head of the organization. “He’s back to business, but he’s ready to fight and wants to challenge Stipe, so we’ll arrange that. This is what he wants.”

Last month, Jon Jones successfully resumed his career after a three-year hiatus, finishing in the first round with a Cyril Gan guillotine choke to win the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt. Stipe Miocic last fought two years ago, losing by knockout in the second round to Francis Ngannou.
