Jon Jones has signed a new contract with the UFC

The title fight with Cyril Gan will be the first fight for Jon Jones under a new long-term contract with the UFC.

This was announced at a press conference in Las Vegas by UFC President Dana White.

“Jon Jones signed a contract for eight fights,” – said the head of the strongest league in the world. “Many, including myself, consider him the greatest fighter of all time. Jon Jones has long been ready, willing and able to fight anyone. He didn’t care who was his opponent.”

On March 4 at UFC 285 in Las Vegas, Jon Jones and Cyril Gun will play for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt, which was vacated by Francis Ngannou, who left the organization.

The last time Jon Jones entered the octagon was in February 2020, after winning a five-round unanimous decision over Dominick Reyes, after which he vacated the UFC light heavyweight championship belt and announced his transition to the heavyweight category.
