Jon Jones has announced a fight date with Stipe Miocic

Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has confirmed information that his fight with Stipe Miocic will headline the annual event that the world’s strongest league holds in November at Madison Square Garden Arena in New York City, while naming the exact date of the bout.

“November 9, Madison Square Garden, I’ll be there baby!” the American fighter wrote on social media.

Shortly after publication, Jon Jones deleted the message in question.

The UFC champion also shared his reaction to the official announcement of a fight between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blades, in which the Brit will put the interim UFC heavyweight championship belt on the line.

“Curtis vs. Tom is a fight for the title of official number one contender,” Jones wrote.

Thus, Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic’s fight on Nov. 9 will headline UFC 309 in New York, while Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blades’ bout will be the second main event of UFC 304, which takes place July 27 in Manchester.
