This was announced by the American fighter in a social network, responding to another fan who suggested that he should give up the fight with Miocicic and have a unification bout with Tom Aspinall, or retire.
“I’ve already agreed to fifteen million dollars for my next fight, bro,” Jones wrote. “For that amount of money I’m going to beat the old man and ride off into the sunset. Hope you guys enjoy it.”
Jones previously confirmed the information that his bout with Miocic will headline UFC 309, which takes place Nov. 9 at Madison Square Garden Arena in New York City.
As for Tom Aspinall, he will step in to defend his interim UFC heavyweight championship belt against Curtis Blades, the division’s fourth-ranked fighter, on July 27 at UFC 304 in Manchester.
