John McCarthy named the greatest fighter and most dangerous man on the planet

Legendary referee John McCarthy sees the difference between being called the greatest fighter in history and the most dangerous man on the planet.

“Who is the most dangerous man on the planet? Who has more claim to that title?”, “Big” John said on another edition of his podcast. “It’s Francis Ngannou, who even as a UFC champion, people weren’t giving credit to. Everybody was saying, ‘No, that’s Jon Jones, he’s running from Jon Jones,’ and things like that.”

“Of course that’s not true, and he has good reason to be considered the most dangerous man on the planet, because if you put Jon Jones in a boxing match against Tyson Fury, it’s probably not going to end well for Jon because he’s a different type of fighter”

“Boxing is one of Jon Jones’ biggest weaknesses in MMA. He’s still the best MMA fighter I’ve ever seen, but given what’s happened, Francis Ngannou can sit down and say, ‘I’m the most dangerous motherf***er on this planet,’ and it’s going to be very hard to prove him wrong.”

Last weekend, Francis Ngannou nearly pulled off the greatest upsets in professional boxing history when he lost a controversial split decision to Tyson Fury in a competitive bout, sending the reigning world heavyweight boxing champion to a knockdown in the third round.

Jon Jones resumed his career in March of this year after a three-year hiatus, finishing Cyril Gane with a first-round guillotine choke and winning the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt vacated by the Cameroonian who left the organization.

On November 11 at UFC 295 in New York City, the American was scheduled to make a title defense against his compatriot Stipe Miocic, but pulled out of the bout after tearing a pectoral muscle in training.
