John Fury praises Joshua: “I would knock over a glass with him!”

John Fury, the father of the WBC heavyweight champion Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs), surprised with recognition. It turns out that he really likes former unified world champion British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs). And he would have taken a glass of something bitter with him with great pleasure.

“It would be a great honor for me to knock over a glass with him,”
confessed Fury is the father. “F**k, are you surprised? I am on my own. I have the right to speak for myself. I have the right to say what I think. It’s just a sport after all. We all live in boxing. And Joshua is a really cool kid. And he gave us, the fans, a lot of cool boxing evenings. He was a great champion. And you know what? If the kid treats me with respect, then why shouldn’t I give him the same?

It turns out that John Fury’s interview is a response to his son Tyson. He joked the other day that his father is a close friend of Joshua. And that if John does not break up with Anthony in the near future, he risks losing his son.

“I would be that even x ** m if I said something bad about Joshua,” Fury’s father does not give in to the blackmail of his son. “Listen, I am me. And Tyson is Tyson. I know that there is no one stronger than my son in boxing. He is a whole mile tougher than all the nearest pursuers. But what does that have to do with the fact that I like other boxers too? How can this stop me from rooting for Joshua? Especially since he’s a really cool kid.”

Meanwhile, Joshua is licking his wounds after two consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and is looking for a new coach. Shane McGuigan talked about the ideal mentor for the ex-champ. And previous coach Robert Garcia commented on the breakup with Joshua: “I wish him success, but I know what his problem is.”
