UFC Fight Night 205 Tournament Match
The fight will take place on March 27 in Columbus (Ohio, USA) at the Nationwide Arena and will become a co-main event of the UFC Fight Night 205 tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 03:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
As part of the #7 women’s flyweight ranking, Joanne Wood (15-7) will face Alexa Grasso (13-3), who is ranked 9th on the same list.
Things have not been going well for UFC veteran Wood lately – she lost the last two fights. In June 2021, the fighter from Scotland lost to Lauren Murphy by a split decision, and in November, Tayla Santos strangled Wood in the first round. Initially, Wood’s opponent in this fight was supposed to be Grasso, but the Mexican dropped out of the tournament due to injury.
Grasso, on the other hand, is on a two win streak, but she hasn’t competed in over a year. In August 2020 and February 2021, she won a unanimous decision against Kim Ji Yong and Maisie Barber respectively.
