26-year-old American lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) Jemaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs) is not surprised that he got the opportunity to fight against the Ukrainian ex-champion Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs), since already I had mentally prepared myself for this for a long time and imagined how it would be.
Recall that their meeting in the ring will take place on the night of Saturday to Sunday in New York (USA).
“I always imagined one day I would face him in the ring,” says Jemaine. “Even five years ago, I thought, “One day I might fight Lomachenko. I imagined it, I talked about it, so I’m not surprised. It’s just part of the process.”
Ortiz also answered the question of what victory in such a fight would mean for him:
“Oh, it will be something special. Something amazing, especially for my team, for the guys in the gym, to know that anything is possible if you work hard and focus on it.”
