Jared Gordon responds to criticism of the UFC president

Jared Gordon, who lost a highly controversial decision to Paddy Pimblett last week, doesn’t blame UFC President Dana White, who criticized him for changing tactics in the third round.

“I was upset and now regret that I didn’t do a little more,” the American said in an interview with MMA Fighting. “I won in the standing position, and probably should have continued in the same spirit. It’s just that my ankle hurt and the movement started hurting me.”

“I thought I was winning and I decided to keep him at the net and transfer, but it was not easy because he defended well. I think if I spent more time standing up, I could have won.”

“I don’t blame Dan White for saying that, because I had two great rounds and did well – if the third was the same, maybe I would have earned a split decision. It’s something I regret, so I don’t blame him for it. Of course, it was unpleasant to hear this, but I can’t be angry with him, because he is partly right. ”

According to the final judging protocol, Paddy Pimblett won two rounds out of three against Jared Gordon, and two judges gave the American exactly the third round, for which he was criticized by the head of the UFC.
