Jan Blachowicz ready to fight Israel Adesanya in middleweight division

If Israel Adesanya, who has beaten the entire top five of the UFC middle division, is having difficulty finding rivals, Jan Blachowicz is ready not only to give revenge to the Nigerian, but also to go down to his weight class for this.

“I prefer to stay in my weight class, but if they gave me a title shot against Israel, it would motivate me to move down to middleweight,” the Polish light heavyweight told Sportskeeda. “I feel like I can do it, cut weight and fight Izzy in his division.”

Blachowicz, who dealt Adesanya his first professional loss two years ago, said the Nigerian’s recent victory over Alex Pereira came as a big surprise to him.

“I was certain that Pereira was someone Israel would never be able to beat. Sometimes you come across opponents whose style you can’t match, but Adesanya has shown that you can do anything if you believe in yourself.”

In March 2021, Israel Adesanya made an unsuccessful attempt to take the UFC light heavyweight title from Jan Blachowicz, losing the fight by unanimous decision after five rounds, and in the next fight, the Pole lost the championship belt, losing to Glover Teixeira by rear naked choke in the second round.
