Jan Blachowicz Calls Alex Pereira Candidates Fight

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz, claims that for the victory over Alex Pereira, the leadership of the strongest league in the world promised him a title chance.

“If I win this fight, my next fight will be for the title,” the Polish fighter said in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “This is a big motivation for me, and thanks to Alex for coming to our division – this is new blood. I am happy that I can take the championship belt back to Poland again.”

According to Blachowicz, the fight with the former UFC middleweight champion was his own idea, which he voiced to his manager, who passed it on to the organization’s matchmakers.

“When I heard that he was moving to our division, I wanted to fight him. I told my manager about it and he gave me a fight – it was easy. Maybe the UFC themselves wanted to organize this fight, and our desires coincided. It’s probably my job in the UFC to send middleweights back to their weight class. In any case, I’m glad because I got what I wanted”

Recall that the light heavyweight fight between Jan Blachowicz and Alex Pereira will be the second most important event of the UFC 291 tournament, which will take place on July 29 in Salt Lake City.
