Jamal Hill vs Jiri Prochazka fight postponed indefinitely

Former UFC light heavyweight title holder Jiri Prochazka has ruled out the possibility of his fight against reigning division champion Jamal Hill taking place on August 19 at UFC 292 in Boston.

According to the Czech fighter, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, he will definitely not return to the octagon until the end of the summer.

“August is too early for me because I want to get back in the cage with more than just being healthy,” Prochazka told the Fair Play Thinker podcast. “I want to enter the cage, having improved a lot, taking a step forward in my style, mindset, career, everything”

Hill had previously revealed that the fight was in development for August and that he wasn’t going to wait for Prochaska if he couldn’t return by that date.

In June last year, Jiri Prochazka took the UFC light heavyweight title from Glover Teixeira, finishing the Brazilian with a rear naked choke with 28 seconds left in the fifth round, and in December, the Czech fighter was injured and dropped out of an immediate rematch, vacating the belt.

As a result, the owner of the vacant title was Jamal Hill, who defeated Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision in January of this year.
