Jamal Hill is using Elijah Topuria’s tactics.

Former UFC bantamweight titleholder Jamal Hill, who will face current division champion Alex Pereira at UFC 300, is utilizing tactics employed by Elijah Topuria prior to his bout against Alexander Volkanovski.

Like the Spanish-Georgian welterweight, the American declared himself the reigning champion beforehand and also recorded his thirteenth professional victory.

“Undisputed reigning UFC bantamweight champion of the world. 13-1,” reads a post on Hill’s social media profile.

As you know, Elijah Topuria claimed the title before his fight with Alexander Volkanovski and recorded another win, and then backed up his words with a second-round knockout of the Australian at UFC 298 in Anaheim.

To be fair, unlike Topuria, Hill owned the UFC championship belt and was forced to vacate the title due to injury.

As a reminder, the bantamweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Jamal Hill will be the main event of the anniversary event, which takes place April 13 in Las Vegas.
