“It’s crazy how a year ago I won the title with a record-breaking performance and complete dominance, but only ranked fourteenth in the UFC’s P4P rankings, never rising above the twelfth spot,” the American wrote on social media. “But everyone else winning a title immediately puts them in the top 8. Even if it’s a split decision, which most would consider a defeat.”
The former UFC champion also mentioned famously unlucky rapper Drake, who bet seven hundred thousand dollars on Strickland’s victory.
“I counted 3-2 in Strickland’s favor. Damn that Drake!”
Recall that the middleweight title fight, which headlined the UFC 297 event in Toronto last weekend, went the full distance and ended in a split decision defeat for the American.
