UFC Fight Night 208 co-main event
The fight will take place on July 24 in London (UK) at The O2 Arena and will become a co-main event of the UFC Fight Night 208 tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 00:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
UFC #8 Middleweight Jack Hermansson (22-7) will take on #9 Chris Curtis (29-8), who is replacing an injured Darren Till.
Hermansson has lost three of his last five fights. He will return after losing a five-round split decision in February to Sean Strickland.
Curtis only made his UFC debut last November and has since won all three fights. He finished with shots from Phil Hawes and Brendan Allen and passed on points to Rodolfo Vieira on June 26 at UFC on ESPN 38.
Hermansson has a noticeable advantage in height and ground skills. But as a striker, Curtis is better and has a very heavy punch, and Chris’ takedown defense is pretty high.
If Curtis has managed to prepare adequately on short notice less than a month since his last fight, then he will have a very good chance at some point to get the Swede with one of his punches and this will decide the outcome of the meeting. Hermansson has been knocked out twice in the UFC, Curtis could be the third behind Thiago Santos and Jared Cannonier to finish him off with punches.
Curtis wins by knockout in the 1st round
