“It’s up to Haney!” Klimas about the future of Lomachenko

American manager of the former holder of three titles in lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 10 KOs) Egis Klimas in
interview told the American reporter about the next fight and the next opponent of the Ukrainian.

Klimas also spoke about a possible fight between Lomachenko and the absolute champion from the United States Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs). According to the manager, after the expected victory on October 29 in the fight with American Jemaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs), Lomachenko is ready to fight either with Haney or with former undisputed champion from Australia George Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs) .

– Lomachenko has a fight ahead of him. Tell me the date?

– October 29 in New York.

– Difficult fight. Difficult. The opponent is an invincible fighter.

– Not easy. That’s what we can say about Lomachenko and the guys with whom we work. He has already defeated all former champions. There are no more division veterans to fight. When we planned the fight, Lomachenko thought like this: Okay, no veterans, no champions, then I want a better prospect.

So Lomachenko is fighting in New York against the best prospect that hasn’t lost yet.

– Right.

  • Shakur won’t be offended by Lomachenko if he picks Haney over him

If he wins and Haney wins, Bob Arum said he wants them to fight. What can you say about the fight between Lomachenko and Haney?

“It’s up to Haney. We are ready. If Haney wins or Kambosos wins, we are ready to fight both of them.

Do you think Lomachenko will fight Haney?

– I think he will win.

– Easy or hard?

– This is boxing, everything is not easy here. There is nothing easy in this game. Always so.

— What is your message to Lomachenko fans if they are watching?

“Keep watching, keep watching. This guy is very entertaining. He puts on good fights.
