It will be more difficult with Beterbiev than with Canelo – Dmitry Bivol

A possible fight against Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) for the Russian WBA Super light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg) Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) will be more difficult than a possible rematch with the Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57 -2-2, 39 KOs).

This is the opinion of Dmitry himself, who in May of this year defeated Alvarez on points, and on November 5 he will hold a mandatory defense against Gilberto Ramirez.

“The (possible) fight with Beterbiev will be harder, but not by much. Just a different type of difficulty,” Bivol noted. – The fight against Canelo was difficult, because no one except my team believed in me. Beterbiev is not as popular as Canelo, so maybe it will be easier. But if we talk about boxing skills, about size, I think that it (the fight with Beterbiev) will be more difficult.”

Let’s add that Alvarez will hold a third fight on September 17 against Gennady Golovkin, and Beterbiev has recently been injured, due to which his defense against Anthony Yarde has been postponed, presumably at the beginning of 2023.

Previously, Canelo called the condition under which he refuses to rematch with Bivol.
