“It will be a shock!” Hearn on Joshua’s retirement if Usyk loses again

On August 20, in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), ex-unified heavyweight champion Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) will try to close the September defeat to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) in rematch. The same WBA Super, IBF and WBO titles are at stake.

British promoter Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing) once again asked if Joshua would end his career in the event of a second defeat to Usyk.

Matchroom Boxing Boss Responds: No, it won’t. If it does finish? This will be a shock to me. Because I know how Joshua loves to fight. Boxing means everything to him. When he lost to Usyk, many people wrote to me that now he needs to hang up his gloves. But I told everyone: “Damn, dudes, he lost not to anyone, but to No. 1 or No. 2 in the “pound”. He is not worn out, he still loves sports. And I am sure that he will be in the top for a long time” . But to be honest, we would rather not lose, but win.”

Yesterday, the eminent heavyweight prospect stated that he looks like Usyk, Joshua is ideal for sparring. And manager Shelley Finkel confirmed the comeback of ex-champ Deontay Wilder, does not rule out a fight with Usyk or Joshua.
