Israel Adesanya: I always beat Alex Pereira

Having suffered three defeats against Alex Pereira, former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who will again share the octagon with the Brazilian this weekend, has no doubt that he will succeed this time.

“To hell with fans, reporters and everyone else – we both know what I can do with him,” MMA Fighting quotes the Nigerian. “I know what he is capable of. Every time I fought him, I won the fight up to a certain point. If he beat me from the first to the last second, I would still be confident and say all sorts of shit, but this is not at all the case. I always beat him, always dominated him until he found a way to win.”

“It challenges me, and I love challenges. This weekend I have the opportunity to remind people and show them how great I am. They have a memory like a fish, and they forgot what happened in my story, but I don’t blame them for that – it’s human nature. But it forces me to be true to myself, to be true to my team, and to be true to my values, which I stand for as a man and as a fighter. This is what will help me do my job this weekend.”

Recall that the middleweight title fight on April 8 will head the UFC 287 tournament in Miami.
