“Adesanya, come to daddy!” the Brazilian said immediately after the fight, and at the press conference he reiterated his willingness to share the octagon with a potential opponent for a third time.
“I think I owe it to Adesanya,” Pereira told reporters. “He motivated me and I think him resting until 2027 is a waste of talent. I think I can get him back.”
Adesanya made it clear that he was not interested in this confrontation, responding to Pereira with lyrics from a song from the animated movie “Cold Heart”.
“Let it go and forget it,” the former UFC champion wrote, posting a photo of the Brazilian lying knocked out after the second fight.
Last November, Alex Pereira took the UFC middleweight title from Israel Adesanya, winning the fight by TKO in the fifth round, and in April of this year, the Nigerian regained the championship belt by knocking out the Brazilian in the second round.
Adesanya then lost the title again against Sean Strickland, announcing after the fight that he was putting his career on an extended pause, while Pereira won a challenger fight against Jan Blachowicz as part of a flyweight title fight and then became the new division champion by finishing Prochazka in the second round.
