Irish underdog Gary O’Sullivan (31-4, 21 KOs) expects to surprise Cuban WBA World middleweight champion (up to 72.6 kg) Erislandy Lara (28-3-3, 16 KOs) in the upcoming fight within boxing evenings in Brooklyn (USA).
Gary is confident that the experience of a training rivalry with the former world champion from England Billy Joe Saunders will help him.
“I’ll draw on my fighting experience with Billy Joe Saunders,” says O’Sullivan. “Billy is one of the best left-handers in the history of British boxing and I have had many rounds of sparring with him and also talked to him a lot about the upcoming fight with Lara. He gave me advice and generally always supported me.
“Lara is considered one of the greatest fighters of all time,” the Irishman arguably noted, “he was a great champion, and it’s an honor for me to share the ring with him.”
Recall that the main event of this boxing show will be the fight between Gervonta Davis and Rolando Romero.
