The fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) has not yet been officially announced, although it is already known that the priority date is April 29 . Accordingly, the details of the contract, which is agreed by the parties, are also kept secret for the time being.
However, judging by the words of Fury’s British promoter, Frank Warren, his ward, if he wins, will be relieved of the obligation to carry out an immediate rematch.
Instead, Warren is counting on a summer British megafight at Wembley between Fury and his other boxer, WBO interim champion Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs), who will have to defeat Chinese representative Zhang Zhilei (24-1) on April 15 -1, 19 KOs).
“Last week, I was delighted to officially announce that the big heavyweight bout between Big Joe Joyce and Big Bad Boom Zhang, aka Zhang Zhilei, will take place on April 15,”
wrote Frank. “Our big hope, of course, is that Joyce will continue on course for the Tyson Fury showdown at Wembley this summer. That’s our plan if Tyson takes all the titles from Oleksandr Usyk and Joe does his job on April 15th.”
Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou is also up for a summer fight with Fury. He even agreed to all Tyson’s conditions.
