“I never talk about anyone’s spouses, but this is all wrong,” the American said in a video posted on social media. “Ian Garry, I remember meeting you with this girl in New York and even then I thought there was something wrong with her. The way she walked, talked, and acted. Now I know you’re 26 years old and she’s 40. Her ex-husband lives with you, you took his last name, and she wrote a book on how to be the wife of a young up-and-coming athlete”
“That’s not right, dude – she’s a succubus. You need to run, bro! Hot girls are ponderous – we’ll give you two ringgirls at once, bro. You gotta cut that knot – I support you, the mma community supports you. Do the right thing, Ian Garry.”
A short time later, Strickland posted the following video in which he revealed that Garry threatened him with legal action in private messages.
“This motherf***er is saying, ‘I’m gonna sue you if you don’t delete this,'” the UFC champ reportedly said. “He’s saying I’m lying. Motherf***er, I’m not lying! You’re 26, she’s 40 and she wrote a damn book on how to be old and live with a young athlete. I’m not lying, bro, those are the facts.”
Ian Machado Garry, 26, knows no defeats and is riding a six-fight win streak under the UFC banner, having defeated Neil Magny by unanimous decision in his last fight. The Irishman will fight next on Dec. 16 at UFC 296 in Las Vegas against eighth-ranked Brazilian Vicente Luque.
Sean Strickland, 32, who took the belt from Israel Adesanya in September, will make his first title defense against South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis on Jan. 20 at UFC 297 in Toronto.
