Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs), the reigning world heavyweight champion from Ukraine, said that he learned a lot about Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) in their first fight, which, we recall, took place last September of the year and ended with Alexander’s victory on points.
The revenge will take place in a matter of hours in Saudi Arabia.
“I learned a lot (in the first fight), Usyk said. “My coach has watched that fight many times and has continued to watch it throughout this week. I can’t tell you all the secrets, but the coach and I saw a lot of things.”
At the end of last year’s fight, Alexander was close to beating Joshua ahead of schedule. In this regard, he was asked if he would stop Anthony, would the fight last 30 seconds longer?
“I am confident in what I am doing and that I am doing my job to the fullest,” the Ukrainian stressed. But to be 100% sure of something like that? I definitely don’t think about it anymore, because it’s just a guess. It happened the way it happened – I boxed 12 rounds and won. I dont know. But I know what I’m doing. I work, I box, and victory is given by the Lord.”
Wilder’s coach sees Usyk teaching Joshua a lot in the rematch.
