Tunde Adjayi, coach of the British contender for the world light heavyweight title (up to 79.4 kg) Anthony Yard (22-2, 21 KOs), shared his impressions of the victory of Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) over Joe Smith (28 -4, 22 KOs).
Recall that on June 19 in New York (USA) Beterbiev won the unification fight for the WBC / WBO / IBF titles, stopping Smith in two rounds. Ajay and Yard, who should be Arthur’s next opponent, attended the fight in person.
“I saw him live and, to be honest, I thought he would be faster,” Tunde says of Beterbiev. – As for me, his blows were slower, although, of course, he has powerful ones. No wonder he knocks everyone out.”
“I always look at my ward, and I can say that Anthony and Joe Smith have nothing similar. They are just two different fighters, two different sets of skills. Yes, Beterbiev is a big puncher. Yes, he hits very hard. But we’ll see how he reacts to Anthony.”
“I shock a lot of people in the fight with Beterbiev.” Interview with Anthony Yarde
