“I love these challenges.” New coach Joshua is overwhelmed with motivation

Renowned American coach Robert Garcia continues to exude joy at joining forces with British ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) to prepare for the upcoming rematch with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 19 KOs).

Robert reported on maximum motivation in an interview with
Little Giant Boxingrecalling several cases when his wards, being underdogs, beat the favorites.

“I love this challenge,” Garcia said. “Especially given that he lost and will have a rematch with the guy who beat him. That’s what motivates me the most: after a defeat, when people don’t expect him to win. I love such challenges. For example, when Maidana beat Broner or Abner Mares – Jesus Queyar. I also remember very well how Steve Luevano went to London to fight Nikki Cook and knocked him out in the 11th round, which no one expected.

“Now Anthony Joshua is facing exactly the same challenge,” the coach emphasized. – He lose. But he was not beaten – he conceded by decision. And yet it is a defeat. Unconditional defeat. And now to get the victory will be just cool for me. For me, as a coach, it will be powerful to get the world heavyweight champion. Nothing could be better.”

Garcia also believes that Joshua is more talented than Usyk, Fury and Wilder.
