I hope Beterbiev’s next fight will be with Bivol – Arthur’s adviser

Anthony Rudmans, legal adviser to unified light heavyweight (79.4 kg) world champion Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) from Canada, claims that the boxer has not yet been contacted about the fight against British mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde (22 -2, 21 KOs), which is already allegedly scheduled for October 23 in London (England).

Anthony does not rule out that Yard will become Arthur’s next rival, however, he does not hide that he would prefer a fight for the title of absolute division champion against Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) for him.

“Obviously Bob Arum and Top Rank are doing what a promoter is supposed to do – they are looking at potential fights for Arthur,” says Rudmans. – At the moment, Beterbiev and his team have not been made an official offer regarding the (next) applicant. This is not to say that there are no talks between Top Rank with (Yarde’s promoter) Frank Warren, but there has been no official offer yet.”

“When the time is right, I am sure that Top Rank will contact Arthur and his team to make an offer,” the adviser said. “Top Rank is definitely considering different options, and Bob Arum has made it clear who he wants to see as Arthur’s next opponent. Arthur’s coach and his team will look at different options – Bivol, Yard and other opponents – and we will decide which one will be better for Arthur’s next fight.

“At the moment, I can only say one thing: Arthur’s goal is to unify all the titles. I hope this will happen in the next match or at least in the near future. If a fight like this (with Bivol) can’t make it to DAZN, I’m sure there’s a way to do it on ESPN,” Anthony added.

Meanwhile, the “pound” from The Ring was updated: Beterbiev entered the top 10.
