Coach of the British ex-contender for the world heavyweight division British Derek Chisora (33-12, 23 KOs) Don Charles in
interview expressed an opinion to the local media about how the former British champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) would defeat the Ukrainian unified champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) in the upcoming rematch.
The coach called the Usyk-Chisora fight the main example of how to act against Alexander. Recall that the rematch between Usyk and Joshua is scheduled for August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

“Honestly, this is a difficult match to analyze. I would break it down from a coaching point of view if I was preparing Joshua for this rematch. There are a lot of questions here. You will go up against an elite athlete named Usyk. Against a fighter whose fighting IQ is second to none. And he’s left-handed, not just a typical fighter. Pretty bright, unpredictable left-hander. So what does Joshua need to do to win this fight? They say you have to fight a boxer and box a fighter. So he really needs to adapt that style.
To a certain extent, he needs to box. Technically, he has all the tools to do so. Fragments he needs to box with him, but most of the time you need to fight him. Turn the fight into a fight. The fight with Derek Chisora was the prime example of how to fight Usyk. In the first four rounds of the Usyk fight, you saw what Derek Chisora did. Usyk didn’t know what was happening to him. Anthony has an excellent jab. Don’t single jab him because he’s a counter puncher. Throw a double jab and then tie it in, push and bull. I hate to say this, but it’s true. From the point of view of a coach, if I coached him, I would say – rebuild into a bull. Even if you are not a “bull” by nature, turn into him for 12 rounds if the fight lasts that long. Because I really believe that Joshua can adapt that approach. Take a chance. Go to him, step towards him, deal with him! I think he can knock out Usyk. In the middle range, Anthony is very dangerous in all his fights. And the way he throws combinations is at the same speed as the middleweight. Fast accurate strikes. He needs to get to that distance to do it.
