Hrgovic found a replacement – Chzhilei will fight with an American, Ioka and Nietes have a date

Earlier, we talked about the fact that on May 7 in Las Vegas (USA) at the opening act for Canelo Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol, the IBF heavyweight eliminator (over 90.7 kg) between Croat Filip Hrgovic (14-0, 12 KOs) will not take place and Zhang Zhilei (23-0-1, 18 KOs) from China, as the favorite was injured.

According to
BigFightWeekendHrgovic will be replaced by an American gatekeeper
Scott Alexander (16-4-2, 8 KOs), who had never lost before the deadline. The status of the Zhilei vs Alexander fight is 10-round rated.

Rematch for the WBO world title in the second flyweight (up to 52.2 kg) between the conquerors of four weight divisions Japanese Kazuto Yoka (28-2, 15 KOs) and Donny Nietes (43-1-6, 23 KOs) from the Philippines will be held on July 13 in Japan – the parties avoided promotional bidding at the last moment.

The first fight between the fighters took place in December 2018 and ended with the victory of the Filipino by a separate decision of the judges.

The WBO decided to deprive Filipino John Riel Casimero (31-4, 21 KOs) of the world bantamweight champion status (up to 53.5 kg) – he had previously broken the fight with mandatory challenger Briton Paul Butler (34-2, 15 KOs) twice in a row .

A boxer from Great Britain took the title of “interim” WBO champion in April (beating Jonas Sultan from the Philippines). Now, as expected, he has been promoted to the status of a full-fledged champion. It is expected that Casimero will give the 1st line in the ranking of the organization.

The Filipino has had enough problems lately. He was accused of sexual assault – molested a minor.
