How so? DAZN has signed a contract with Joshua, but will not show a rematch with Usyk

Sky Sports TV channel won the tender
streaming DAZN
– fought for the right to broadcast in the UK a rematch for the WBA Super, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles between the current and former champions Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) and British Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs). The fight will take place on August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

In September last year in London (England), Usyk defeated the local champion by decision of the judges, and the loser activated the revenge clause prescribed in the contract. That was the last contractual fight between Joshua and Sky Sports — have been working together since 2013, when the Briton turned pro.

Interestingly, earlier DAZN streaming agreed to cooperate with Joshua. The parties signed a long-term contract. Rumor has it that we are talking about 10 fights. Streaming bosses even named Joshua as their ambassador.

According to
The Sun
this deal was not taken into account during the negotiations for a rematch, since in fact all the rights to the fight were bought out by investors from Saudi Arabia – they forked out more than 100 million US dollars.

For this reason, everyone claimed to broadcast the battle in Britain: DAZN, Sky Sports and even BT Sport and BBC. Offer from Sky was much more than competitors – about 30 million US dollars.

Ex-conqueror of cruiserweight and heavyweight Briton David Haye does not rule out that Joshua will again lose to Usyk and end his career. Meanwhile, Anthony told who is number one for him – Tyson or Ali.
