Henry Cejudo offered Merab Dvalishvili to insure the title fight

After Merab Dvalishvili’s dominating performance against Petr Yan, former dual UFC champion Henry Cejudo wants the Georgian fighter to belay teammate Aljamain Sterling in his upcoming title match.

“Dear Dana White, I’ve watched the fight between number two and number three here and I have a hunch that Sterling is likely to pull out of the fight,” Cejudo wrote on the social media, addressing the head of the organization. “Because of that, why not give me a Merab? Give me Merab if Sean O’Malley wants to wait.”

“Why don’t we make Merab an alternate at UFC 288? They are sparring partners and I want to be sure of the fight because there is a feeling that Aljo will withdraw. For these two fools, I will have the same plan for the fight – to fight and hit every time they try to go to the exchange or transfer.

“Anyway, Dana White, if you can hear me, let’s put Merab on the bench because I want to fight both of them. If I can fight them on the same night, that’s even better.”

Recall that the fight between Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili, who headed the UFC Fight Night 221 tournament in Las Vegas, ended with the defeat of the Russian by unanimous decision, and the title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo on May 6 will head the UFC 288 tournament in Newark.
